Extra Blog: April
While in Mexico, I managed to fit in some school related work by helping coach my cousin's Midget League football team, Los Borrregos de Agauscalietes (The Aguascalientes Rams). I was in charge of the linebacker group, and had them run cone drills, and exercises to increase their reflexes.

Blog 19: Independent Component 2
Literal
(a) I, Alexis Mendoza affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 37 hours of work.
(b) In terms of PowderPuff, I have the other coaches, the players, and the Senior teachers as witnesses to my work. For Southlands, I have my mentor, Richard Orr, wholm helped me and continues to guide me as the season progresses.

(d) Throughout the course of my second independent component, I managed to prepare the Senior girls PowderPuff team for the game against the Juniors. Although we were not victorious, the players showed a great effort, and I'm proud of them nonetheless.
Interpretive
Getting the chance to be the head coach of the Senior girls PowderPuff team was such a unique and helpful experience. It gave me a chance to have a hands-on experience in the field of coaching. While it was difficult at times because of attendance issues, it helped me realize the true meaning of being a coach, and taught me the values of being patient and understanding with others. At Southlands, it has been very entertaining transitioning from the status of player to assistant coach. Getting the chance to work with my past instructors as partners is a blessing, and has helped me mature as both a coach and an athlete.
Applied
Being the head coach for PowderPuff was very beneficial when it came to my Senior project. Since my EQ was composed of the 3 major football units, it allowed me to organize and study each position during the practices. Wherever there was a flaw in technique or in the unit overall, I was able to spot it and helped the player in order to benefit the rest of the unit. one example would be the receivers. Most of our practices at PowderPuff were composed of constantly running plays over and over again. As a result, our offense was quicker and more synchronized during the game.
